Choco-Peanut Butter Granola

Note: Store leftover granola in an airtight container. You might try it as a topping for vanilla yogurt. Mmmmmm!

Prep time: 15 minutes plus 2 hours in the refrigerator.

What you need:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup creamy natural peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups whole grain "O"s
  • 1/4 cup banana chips, broken (optional)

Equipment & supplies:

  • measuring cups and spoons
  • 2 large bowls
  • spoon for mixing
  • wax paper
  • cookie sheet
  • refrigerator

What to do:

  1. Mix the honey, peanut butter, and cocoa in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole grain "O" cereal, and banana chips.
  3. Heat peanut butter mixture for 30-45 seconds in the microwave until warm and melted.
    Careful - this will be hot!
  4. Immediately add dry ingredients and stir to coat.
  5. Press mixture onto a the wax-paper-lined cookie sheet and chill for 2 hours.
  6. Break into pieces and enjoy.
